- New 2/9/2008 - Pray for wisdom for the leadership at PIBC, we have been presented with some opportuntities for partnerships with different groups which would give us possible sites in Hawaii (along with an already developed Master's program) and in Tonga.
- New 2/9/2008 - Pray for the students as they are here at PIBC that they might have their needs met physically, financially, academically (13 on academic probation), emotionally, and spiritually. Right now especially there are several students with great financial needs.
- New 2/9/2008 - Pray for me as I teach this semester. I have two classes. One one credit class on character development and relationship building. The other is co-teaching study skills with Melody Plaxton. These make me especially busy. Please pray that I will manage my time well and that I will be able to communicate with the students so that they will learn well.
- New 2/9/2008 - Pray for text books which have not yet arrived for the semester. Pray that God would get them here quickly through the mail service. Pray for the teachers to be creative as they wait for the books to arrive.
- New 2/9/2008 - Pray that God would provide for all our needs financially as a school. Due to the lower number of students and some students having difficulty making their payments, our funds as a school are very low this semester. We have already hit our maintenance budget limit for the school year. The washers and dryer in the girls area are dying (they don't alway spin out or work) but there is no money in the budget to replace them, etc.
- New 2/9/2008 - Pray for Hollie Schaub and Aaron as they are "off island" for at least 8 months. Aaron on active military duty and Hollie for graduate school at Biola. May God help them stay connected during their seperation and help them both in their current tasks.
- Pray and ask if God would have you partner with me again in my ministry. Of course any contribution would be great I am looking for more people who would be willing to support me with a monthly commitment as well.
- Pray that I would find more churches who would be willing to partner with me and support me.
- Pray that I would be quick to listen and slow to anger.
- Pray for Wisdom on how to Bless and Mentor the women students at PIBC
- Pray for all the faculty and staff at PIBC that we would be able to work together united in spirit and mind as we minister to the students at PIBC
- Pray that I would be able to establish healthy boundaries in my relationships and in my ministries as I serve on Guam
- Pray that God would provide the counseling supervision I need as I am on Guam.
- Pray for my health in general that God would sustain me throughout the year.
- New 9/13/2007 - Pray that PIBC would be able to find an IT (Computer type) person for our Guam campus.
- New 9/13/2007 - Pray for wisdom in the best way to handle food for our students with our new kitchen. Right now we don't have a stove and a refrigerator... but we would eventually like to have our own cook running the kitchen.
Prayer Update:
Answered Prayer:
Update 2/9/2008 - Steve Stinnette, who went to the states for a possible cornea transplant went to Will's Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After several attempts, the hospital was able to fit his eye with a brand new type of contact lens which has returned to him regular vision. The Doctors also noticed some healing to scar tissue in his eye. This is HIGHLY irregular. Scar tissue in the eye does not usually just disappear. We are praying that He and his wife Anne might be able to return to PIBC by the Fall.
Update 2/9/2008 - Jens and Karin Schulz, who returned to Germany in December because of Visa problems, were able to be granted new visa and they hope to return on February 25th. Wahoo.....
Update 11/21/2007 Liebenzell finally found a person to fill their Global Missions Director. Bill Shuit, a previous Liebenzell missionary, was officially accepted this past weekend at the Liebenzell board meeting.
Update 9/13/2007 Last week Aaron Schaub (married to Hollie, AKA Mr. Hottie) arrived back from Kuwait. Unfortunately he will be redeployed in January.
Update 9/13/2007 - Praise for the arrival of Tim and Melody Plaxton. Tim is our new maintenance supervisor and Melody teaches English. They were in orientation a year ago and have finally hit Guam this Fall.
Update 9/13/2007 - Sorry for the late update... I just realized that I forgot but a Retreat Ministries Director was found for Liebenzell at the Schooley's Mountain Retreat Facility. I was able to meet him at the Liebenzell Conference this summer. He seems to be highly qualified and passionate about his work.
New 9/13 - We are now in the second week of the semester and so far things seem to be off to a pretty good start. We have 64 resident students although we had accepted 70.
New 7/18 - Found a new storage place. I have a buyer for my car.
New 7/18 - Tim and Melody Plaxton will finally be getting to Guam in August. They still need some support but are moving on faith.
New 5/5 - Forgive for the delay in posting this.... The Local doctor here was able to temporarily help Steve (my boss) with his eye problem by giving him a "Piggyback" contact lens. This is great since then he can get fitted with a contact when he is in the states this summer.
New 3/17 - Praise for the great group of people that I work with here at PIBC. They are truly a blessing. It is hard to imagine that almost half of us were new this semester and we all seem to get along great and love each other. It has been a real blessing.
New 2/9 - Praise - so far class is going well. I am really enjoying it. Please don't stop praying though. It is not really easy to balance all the work with my other responsibilities.
New 2/9 - Praise -So far the semester is off to a good start. The students have come back and the new students seem (only a few) seem to be fitting in just fine. Although there is a concern here or there - overall things seem to be going well.
New 2/9 - Sorry this update is late but Peter was able to fly to the Phillipines successfully and get a new passport. He has a little trouble leaving but they eventually let him fly. Every thing went smoothly once he got there. And he returned safely.
New 1/16 - Praise for a mission trip that seems to have been very successful. I was there the last week to see a team of students from 2 cultures learn to love and appreciate each other's differences and work with really unity serving the Lord. They were also willing to go and do whatever needed to be done. I am so proud of each member of the team.
New 12/21 - My brother in law Jean's doctor approved him to get the biopsy but when he went in for the biopsy, the doctor told him that since there was no change in his xray from 5 years ago that he did not think there was a need to do a biopsy.
New 12/21 - Praise Finals are finished and the students have all left.... for the most part anyway. Some after much persuading.... The Yap mission team left for Yap yesterday at 6 am.
New 12/11 - Praise for a good semester.
New 12/11 - My sister Christine's stress test went well.....
New 11/6 - Dad's procedure went really well. He is home and feeling much better. He even went to play cards on the day he got home from the hospital.
New 9/30 - Praise for a woman's small group biblestudy which I have become involved in on Thursday mornings. I wasn't sure that I wanted to become involved with this study but the first week cirriculum really was great and the women seemed very nice and friendly. I am looking forward to next week.
Update 9/30 - Praise for the faculty and staff at PIBC. They are a wonderful Gody group of people.
New 9/15 - On Thursday 9/14 8 of my boxes and my Chadwicks order (which left the US before I did) got here. It was funny because i have been giving the guy who picks up the mail at the post office a hard time accusing him (not seriously) that he has been throwing away the package slips because he doesn't feel like carrying them. On Thursday someone different volunteered to pick up the mail and voila..... 8 boxes arrive. I think that may be everything although I am missing a few books I bought just before I left. Maybe I accidently packed them in my storage stuff.... hmmm...
New 9/11 - Wahoo! Got my license to drive the van.
New 9/8 - Praise God that Hollie and I passed the written exam. Now there is one more step to be passed....and that is to go to the DMV and pass an oral exam about the van..... I will do that today..... Hollie will do it next week.
New 9/2 - Praise God that my health benefits have now kicked in and I am now officially covered.
New 9/2 - Praise my body seems to have caught up to Guam time. Now I am tire for completely different reasons. :o)
Praise for the car that God provided for me. (See Blog for the story).
Praise that my support level that was needed to leave for Guam was raised. However due to my car situation more support may be needed than originally estimated so whatever support comes in will I am sure be put to good use. Also cost of living on the island is pretty high.... as I found out just trying to get basics for the apartment including cleaning stuff, and basic food stuffs.
Praise for a long but relatively smooth day of travel. I am thankful to be here safe and sound.
Dad's surgery went well and he came home from the hospital on 8/1. Praise that according to the last report the infection has successfully healed. Pray for continued strenghening and encouragement as he deals with his current physical limitations. UPDATED 8/19 (GUAM TIME).
Praise for the many wonderful workers that have helped me over the last couple of weeks to make my move possible. Although moving in the heat was difficult and it took much more time than predicted - it is now done for the most part and I am very thankful.
Praise for the wonderful time and the wonderful friends made at orientation this summer in Schooley's Mountain NJ.
Praise for the wonderful yet often tearful goodbyes at work and church. What wonderful people God which with God has blessed me.
Praise God for a wonderful time with family and family friends on 7/4 and 7/16. Inspite of the thunderstorm - it was a joyous time to get to visit before I leave for Guam.
Please email me and let me know how I can pray for you!!!!
